European Football Preview – May 2
As the 2020/2021 European domestic seasons draw to a close, the action across the continent is heating up with several huge matches this weekend.
We have studied the form, analysed the markets and have found our five best bets below.
Borussia Dortmund Vs RB Leipzig
Saturday 1 May, 11:30pm, Signal Iduna Park
It’s been a rough week for RB Leipzig with gun manager Julian Nagelsmann announcing he will leave the club at the end of the season for Bayern Munich.
He can secure one last parting gift for his current employers by confirming a spot in next season’s Champions League with at least a draw in this match.
Dortmund is one point out of the Champions League placings thanks to a four match winning streak which has catapulted them up the ladder.
Head to head there is a great case to be made on Dortmund winning the match and I’ll back them to extend their current winning streak.
For some extra value, I’ll go into the doubles market and back over 3.5 goals with both sides more than happy to attack, we could be in for a high scoring encounter.

Werder Bremen Vs Bayer Leverkusen
Saturday 1 May, 11:30pm, Weserstadion
Bremen is in a lot of trouble thanks to a seven match losing streak in the Bundesliga.
Their last point came on March 11 and since then, they have fallen by the wayside which makes them an attractive proposition to take on here.
Leverkusen has performed quite well on the road, taking 22 points from 15 matches and I will jump on them at this price.

Crotone Vs Inter Milan
Sunday 2 May, 2:00am, Stadio Ezio Scida
Inter continues to roll towards a drought breaking Serie A title and in the process, ending the Juventus stranglehold on the Scudetto.
Crotone should provide minimal resistance here, losing 16 of its 19 matches in the 2021 calendar year.
That horrible run began with a 6-2 belting from the champions-elect and I can see Inter inflicting a similar scoreline in this match.
Back Inter Milan to Win and Over 3.5 Goals @ $2.15
Real Madrid Vs Osasuna
Sunday 2 May, 5:00am, Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium
The La Liga title race will go down to the wire and Real Madrid will have to go into this fixture with guns blazing to ensure they maintain their place in it.
Having dropped four points in their last three matches, Real now needs to take care of its own business and rely on its rivals to slip up.
Osasuna’s three match winning run was brought to a halt by Celta Vigo last week and they have gone a long time without wins over Los Blancos.
Their last victory came in 2011 and ten of Real’s victories since then have come by at least two goals.

Monaco Vs Lyon
Monday 3 May, 5:00am, Stade Louis II
France might still have elements of a farmer’s league about it but it’s also seeing one of the most impressive title races in recent memory.
The dynastic PSG may be forced to choose between another domestic title that they are no certainties for or going all out for a Champions League miracle.
Waiting in the wings are these two clubs with all three entering the weekend looking up at Lille.
Monaco is in red hot form and with a little bit of luck, could end the weekend on top of the table.
This is not as close of a matchup as the market suggests.
