Warwick Farm Preview – Wednesday 2nd June
We’re back to Warwick Farm on Wednesday for another exciting seven-race program.
The rail will be set out five metres from the 1000m to the winning post, and 3 metres around the remainder, and at publish, the track is rated in the Soft (5) range.
Race 1 - 12:50pm
I’m going to give Captivare once last chance in the first at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The Chris Waller-trained gelding has made five appearances at the races since resuming at the end of March, and while he is obviously yet to record a win, he is also yet to miss placing.
He enters this race on the short back-up and he might not be offered a better opportunity to win.

Race 2 - 1:25pm
There isn’t much form to study ahead of this maiden race for two-year-olds, but I was taken by what Verne did on debut, and he looks well placed to win.
The Snitzel colt showed ability at the trials prior to debuting, and ran home well to finishing second, beaten half a length by In The Congo on the Kensington course at Randwick.
With natural improvement for that experience and under Hugh Bowman, he can strike this week.

Race 3 - 2:00pm
Some of the leading fancies in this race are on debut and on speculation alone, there is a case to be made for many.
I can’t find anything I am particularly confident in, so I am happy to sit back and watch.

Race 4 - 2:35pm
Hibiscus Lady hasn’t been seen at the races since January, but she tends to race well fresh, and she boasts a class edge over a lot of her rivals in the fourth at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The Foxwedge mare was a model of consistency last time in, finding form around some quality metropolitan grade gallopers and ending her prep fifth behind The Face at Randwick.
She’s had the benefit of a couple of trials leading into this contest and I am pretty confident in her chances of winning.

Race 5 - 3:10pm
Sur La Mer will take winning form into the fifth at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, and she looks well placed to continue her rise through the grades.
The Nicconi filly has had three trips to the races since debuting in April, finishing second at her first two before breaking her maiden easily at Newcastle last time.
This is obviously her toughest test to date, but she harbours plenty of upside and will be ridden by Brenton Avdulla.

Race 6 - 3:45pm
This is one of the better races on the card at Warwick Farm this week, but I’m confident that Media Starguest will run a big race.
Media Starguest has been up and racing for a while, but he has continued to return big efforts in decent races, winning at Canterbury two starts back and finishing fourth in the Inglis Guineas last time out.
This is obviously a drop in class from that race and he’ll get some relief in the weights this week under Louise Day.

Race 7 - 4:25pm
This is a tough way to end the day from a betting perspective, but I am going to stick with Cadenabbia.
Cadenabbia returned from a break to record a lovely win here at Warwick Farm last month, and he will only improve for that effort.
He’s drawn to receive a lovely run in transit and with even luck, he can fight out the finish again.
3 Units Cadenabbia
