The five year old mare has just the 12 starts to her name and looks a progressive type of horse who can make sharp improvements with more race experience. Barrier five is a positive. 1 Unit Wednesday Bet Now: Ascot Race 2 Race 3 - 1:25pm Amelia Park Handicap (1100m) Written Matter has managed three wins from his four career race starts so far including an impressive first up win at Ascot. He will take plenty of benefit out of that fresh run and alth

2021 George Moore Stakes Day Preview

We have a huge 10 race card at Doomben this Saturday afternoon after a deluge of rain has fallen in Brisbane over the last week. Our full 2021 George Moore Stakes Day Preview can be read below. Race 1 - 12:03pm 2 YO Plate (1200m) The opening race of the afternoon is stacked full of debutants and on the heavy track, I’m happy to sit back and watch. No Bet Bet Now: Doomben Race 1 Race 2 - 12:38pm Country Cups Challenge (1600m) Rather Salubrious put together back to back wins at Dalby and Yeppoon to earn a shot in the Listed Keith Noud last start. He was well beaten in that event but will appreciate the step back in class for this assignment. 1 Unit Rather Salubrious Bet Now: Doomben Race 2 Race 3 - 1:13pm Eagle Way (2000m) The Tony Gollan trained Ashgrove was dominant when winning his maiden at Doomben on the soft track by three lengths last start. The son of Dundeel will take plenty of benefit from that run and the step up to 2000m will suit him down to a

2021 Kingston Town Classic Preview

The Group 1 Kingston Town Classic is a weight-for-age race run over 1800m at Ascot racecourse. The race has been won by some quality horses including Kingston Town (1982), Vo Rogue (1988), Better Loosen Up (1989) and more recently Arcadia Queen (2018). Our runner by runner guide and 2021 Kingston Town Classic Preview can be found below. Regal Power The 2020 All-Star Mile winner has raced just five times since winning that race and his two runs so far this prep in the west have been full of promise. He was beaten just over a length in the Northerly Stakes behind Dance Music and just over two lengths in the Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes at his next outing. A win in the Group 1 Railway Stakes in 2019 was followed by a sixth in the Kingston Town and at his best, he is more than capable of being competitive in a race of this quality. Bet Now: Regal Power Trap For Fools 2018 Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes winner Trap For Fools will tackle the Kingston Town Classic for the third time on Saturd

2021 Pakenham Cup Day Preview

Pakenham Cup Day headlines Victoria’s thoroughbred program this weekend, and nine races will be contested. The rail will be left in the true position around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Good (4) range.   Race 1 - 12:35pm AEDT John Duff & Co BM70 Handicap (1600m) Tycoon Bec will take plenty of improvement into her second campaign start at Pakenham on Saturday and she can return to winning form. The Written Tycoon mare recorded three wins from as many starts during her debut prep, and her condition just gave way a little when third at Geelong resuming this time. Jamie Kah jumps aboard this week and with even luck, Tycoon Bec can win again. 4 Units Tycoon Bec Bet Now: Pakenham Race 1 Race 2 - 1:10pm AEDT Momentum Gaming F&M BM78 Handicap (1400m) Starlight Scope has recorded two wins from as many starts back this time, and she can continue her rise through the grades at Pakenham on Saturday. The Night Of Thunder mare

2021 Christmas At Rosehill Gardens Preview

Rosehill Gardens will host Sydney’s headline metropolitan meeting this weekend, and ten races are on the program. The rail will be set out four metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (7) range. Race 1 - 12:20pm AEDT Cabra-Vale Diggers Handicap (1350m) Shihonka will take winning form into the first at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and she looks well placed to make it two in a row. The Capitalist filly has been a consistent performer since making her debut, winning twice and missing placing only once in five previous starts. It is fair to say that her most-recent effort in BM68 company here was the best of her career so far, and she will only improve into this contest. 4 Units Shihonka Bet Now: Rosehill Gardens Race 1 Race 2 - 12:55pm AEDT Highway Handicap (1800m) Sumdeel raced home well to fill the minors in a Highway race a fortnight ago, and I think that this looks the perfect opportunity for her to strike. Bathurst - Race 2 6:39PM AEDT No. 2 Ballerini Somewhat of an enigma, this Bernie Hewitt prepared three-year-old made an unglamorous start to her career, failing to place at her first six starts. However, in the past three months she has stamped herself as one of the states most exciting young horses. This was on display at her most recent start, winning her heat of this race by a comfortable 21.2m, clocking the fastest time of any heat, across both tracks in the process.  Drawn to lead or settle close throughout from barrier two, this $30,000 Group Three event should be nothing more than a procession for the daughter Bettors Delight. Bet Now: Bathurst Race 2 Bathurst - Race 5 8:16PM AEDT No. 1 Triple Eight As dominant as the favourite runner Expensive Ego was when winning his InterDominion Heat Saturday, it was hard to ignore the run of Triple Eight behind Malcolm’s Rhythm.  After intelligently navigating his way out of a deep peg pocket, driver Greg Sugars chased this

The Defunct Teams of the NBL

Hình ảnh
Here’s a fun fact: throughout its history, the NBL has had more teams than that are currently in the NBA. In fact, the current tally of defunct NBL teams now stands at 37 with the Townsville Crocodiles being the most recent team to depart before the 2016-17 season. Defunct NBL teams are so common that they even have a page devoted to them on Wikipedia. Almost every capital city in Australia except Darwin has had one, two or even three NBL teams play in the same season. With the Tasmania JackJumpers set to make their debut this Friday night against the Brisbane Bullets, we can only hope that the new kids from the apple asile never-ever make this list. While the AFL is still yet to give Tassie a team, the JackJumpers will be the fourth NBL franchise to come from the map. Daily Racing Tips – Wednesday 1st December

Warwick Farm - Race 5 4:40pm AEDT No. 8 Hollywood Gossip Hollywood Gossip has an excellent chance to return to winning form at Warwick Farm this afternoon. She was gallant in defeat at Canterbury last start and I think that the drop in trip will suit. James McDonald in the saddle is a big positive and she will make her own luck right on the speed. Bet Now: Warwick Farm Race 5 Warwick Farm - Race 6 5:15pm AEDT No. 2 Ocean Emperor It has been a while between race wins for Ocean Emperor, but he finds himself in a very winnable contest. He hasn’t had much luck in his past two race starts at Canterbury and I am confident that he is going better than his bare form suggests. Reece Jones will settle him in the second half of the field from barrier ten and he will be storming home late. Bet Now: Warwick Farm Race 6 Launceston - Race 5 8:30pm AEDT No. 3 The Inevitable This is an outstanding edition of the Tasmanian Newmarket Handicap and there are a host of winning chan

5 Lessons Learned – NFL Week 12

Hình ảnh
With 12 weeks completed, we are two thirds of the way through the 2021 NFL regular season and we are still waiting for contenders to emerge from the pack. Just about every team comes with a “yeah but…” when assessing their Super Bowl chances which can make picking games a nightmare for punters and prognosticators alike. The Friday triple header produced a pair of close finishes as Chicago and Vegas won on walk-off field goals before more than half of the Monday games finished with a margin of one score. We are ready to recap all of the NFL Week 12 action below. 1 – Nobody Has Been Officially Eliminated… Yet With six weeks remaining in the regular season, the phrase “mathematically possible” will become an increasingly popular phrase for certain teams. Technically, all 32 teams can describe their playoff chances as “mathematically possible” or better. That’s right, even the 0-10-1 Lions have a very slim path to postseason football… not that you would back them because it’s still

Top 10 AFL Father-Son Combinations

Hình ảnh
One of the greatest things about the AFL is the Father-Son rule that allows clubs to preferential treatment when it comes to drafting the sons of former players. It was a big moment for Collingwood fans when Peter Daicos’ son Nick joined his brother, Josh Daicos at the Magpies during the 2021 AFL Draft. Sam Darcy, son of Bulldogs great Luke, joined the Western Bulldogs during the draft also, taken at pick 2. Some of the best players in the history of the AFL have been drafted through the Father-Son rule and we have come up with ten of the best Father-Son combinations in the history of the AFL. Gary Ablett Sr. – Gary Ablett Jr. They could play Australian Rules for another 1000 years and it will be tough to top this duo. Gary Ablett Sr. played 242 games for Geelong and is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the AFL, but many would argue that Gary Ablett Jr. surpassed his famous father. Geelong only had to part with the 40 th overall draft pick to secure Able
