Moonee Valley - Race 3 5:15pm AEDT
Guns Ablazing was super impressive two weeks ago here at The Valley where he gapped his rivals by a length over the same trip.
Damien Oliver rode him a peach that day tucked in behind the spead, before pushing the button over the final 300m to win comfortably.
He’ll carry a couple extra kg’s for his troubles, but everything about the run suggested he can go on with it.
Moonee Valley - Race 5 6:15pm AEDT
Spooning is a lightly-raced mare out of the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr stable that looks to be in for a good prep.
She resumed at Sandown two weeks ago to finish only two lengths fifth, and the way she hit the line suggested she’ll appreciate the mile now.
This is a drop back in class for her, and after placing over this trip in the Adelaide Guineas earlier in the year, she looks tough to beat.
Moonee Valley - Race 6 6:45pm AEDT
Tricky race with plenty of chances, but it does look a nice one for the always consistent Estoril Park.
The Corstens-trained mare has returned a place in two of her three runs since resuming, including a last-start second to Kev’s Girl in this same race three weeks ago.
She’ll need luck from barrier 11, but with two placings to her name at The Valley and a strong record over the trip, she’s worth including.
Moonee Valley - Race 8 7:45pm AEDT
Wegobam brings strong form into her third-up assignment coming off back-to-back placings at Warrnambool and Flemington,
She was strong to the line in her most recent start at Headquarters, and she doesn’t need to improve much to be a real factor here with Damien Oliver in the irons agaib.
Barrier 11 is the only issue, but fitter for two runs back, she looks set to peak.
