Werribee - Race 5 2:30pm AEDT
Inthelapofthegods has been up for a long while, but he’s done well to hold his form and find the money in four of his last five starts.
The Nathan Dunn-trained five-year-old was a clear winner four starts back over a similar journey at Echuca, and he was unlucky not to score again at his latest outing where he was gunned down late at Geelong.
The fact he’s won over further is a big plus, and from the soft gate, he’ll be tough to run down again.
Werribee - Race 6 3:00pm AEDT
Bonamassa doesn’t win out of turn, but he has put together some impressive form of late to suggest he’s capable of claiming another.
The son of Helmet has found the placings in back-to-back starts over the mile, the most recent of which came over the track and distance earlier in the month when he finished three-quarters of a length behind the Miss Gobcain.
That horse has since gone on to find the money again at Sale, and he should be afforded a lovely run in transit from barrier 3.
Werribee - Race 7 3:30pm AEDT
Better Tomorrow looks a progressive type for trainer Henry Dwyer based on what we’ve seen from him so far.
The son of Helmet won his maiden over the same distance at Echuca two back, and was game to the line for third when resuming here at Werribee over the mile earlier in the month.
He’s really found some form following a disappointing first-up run, and barrier 7 should see him saving his best for late.
Werribee - Race 8 4:00pm AEDT
Squizzy Mizzy has made the journey up from Adelaide and looks well-placed dropping back slightly in grade.
Phillip Stokes’ mare won first-up at Morphettville by close to two lengths, and then came close to adding another in her third-up assignment when third over the same journey.
She gets in with some weight relief due to the apprentice claim and there is definite scope for improvement.
