Sandown - Race 3 4:15pm AEDT
There’s a case to be made for a few here, but I do think All Stardom is worth another look after running a narrow second to Universal Lady over the track and trip a fortnight ago.
The son of All Too Hard was slow to begin and did plenty wrong at the top of the straight, but drawn off the fence now, he should be settling a little closer to the speed this time around.
He should be hard fit now for two runs back, while the in-form Will Gordon, who rode him to a win first-up at Stony Creek, returns to the saddle.
Sandown - Race 4 4:50pm AEDT
Crystal Chief appears to have turned a corner if his two runs this time in are anything to go by.
The son of Written Tycoon stuck on well at the Lakeside track first-up before bolting in from midfield at Pakenham two weeks ago to win with plenty in hand.
There’s still scope for improvement third-up, especially if Damian Lane can save his best for late again.
Sandown - Race 6 6:00pm AEDT
Delta Tango has mixed her form this time in work, but she is a much better mare than the current price suggests.
The daughter of Dissident was a clear 2.5L winner at Ararat two back before finishing third-last at The Valley four weeks ago.
She got too far back in the run and I don’t think the tight turns suited her, so back out to a bigger track can help her improve.
John Allen has won both times he’s ridden her and the pair should be strong in the finish.
Sandown - Race 7 6:30pm AEDT
This is just about D-Day for the Hawkes-trained Yukon.
The son of Vancouver has been a frustrating horse to follow throughout his career, but he does look to have found a winnable race with a slight fitness edge over some of his rivals.
He held his ground under big weight for second at Kensington last time out, and that form does read okay with third place getter Galaxy Belle going on to be narrowly beaten by Surefire at Randwick on Saturday.
