Randwick-Kensington Preview – Wednesday 29th June
Eight races will be run and won at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday, June 29th.
The rail will be set out three metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (6) range.
Race 1 - 12:15pm
This looks the perfect opportunity for Himalaism to strike.
By I Am Invincible and out of Snitzerland, Himalaism is bred from break-neck speed and he kept his best work for last when fourth, beaten by a length here when resuming.
I’m expecting plenty of improvement for that effort and on exposed form, he’s certainly the one to beat.
4 Units Himalaism
Race 2 - 12:50pm
Ramones has only just missed at his first two career starts and gets another chance to win at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
The Zoustar gelding showed ability at the trials prior to debuting, having finished second in races at Warwick Farm and here at Randwick-Kensington this month.
Fitter third-up, this looks his opportunity.
4 Units Ramones
Race 3 - 1:25pm
I’m going to have something on What’s Going On in the third at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
The Sizzling filly has only made one appearance at the races so far, but she raced home well to finish third, beaten by half a length on the main track here at Randwick.
I’m expecting big improvement for that experience and she can begin her rise through the grades.
3 Units What’s Going On
Race 4 - 2pm
Parlayed hasn’t returned a poor effort since debuting and will take a power of beating again at Randwick-Kensington today.
The Team Hawkes-trained filly filled the minors in each of her two starts during her debut prep, completing an ideal return to the races with a dominant effort at Newcastle earlier this month.
This looks like the perfect opportunity to transition to metro company and under William Pike today, she is my best bet on the program
6 Units Parlayed
Race 5 - 2:35pm
Karlstad has been a consistently performer since resuming, and he strikes another very winnable race at Randwick-Kensington today.
The Sacred Falls gelding charged in to score an impressive win over 1550m at Canterbury two starts back and he was far from disgraced when third in Saturday company at Rosehill last time out.
Hughie Bowman retains the ride and the horse will relish a drop in class.
4 Units Karlstad
Race 6 - 3:10pm
I’m going to give Quiet Riot another chance to strike at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
He was an impressive winner out at Orange when resuming and while racing consistently in tougher company since, he hasn’t managed to win again.
He takes his place in this contest at peak fitness and is drawn ideally under Kerrin McEvoy.
2 Units E/W Quiet Riot
Race 7 - 3:45pm
This is one of, if not the most open race on Wednesday’s program and a horse like Le Vizir rates as a key winning chance at around the $6 mark.
The Siyouni gelding returned some nice efforts in Saturday metro company last time in, racing home fairly to finish a credible fifth, though well beaten by Waihaha Falls at Randwick first-up this time.
I’m expecting good improvement for that hit-out and dropping in class.
4 Units Le Vizir
Race 8 - 4:20pm
I was originally pretty keen on Daralina Belle in this contest, but with that galloper’s early scratching, I now think that Siyata can strike.
Siyata needed her first run back when she failed to keep on to the line at Scone, but she was far better into second at Wyong last time.
This is a little harder, but she strips fitter and we can have an each-way play at current odds.
