Bendigo - Race 2 12:35pm AEST
Far Too Tempting gets another crack at winning her maiden following a game effort first-up on the synthetic at Ballarat.
The All Too Hard mare raced wide that day, but still managed good ground to finish half a length off Delivery Man.
She was good second-up during her maiden prep running third at Swan Hill, and with a little more fitness under the belt now and an in-form Robbie Downey steering, I think she’ll go close.
Bendigo - Race 5 2:20pm AEST
Guantanamera is having his fourth run back and looks a nice price in a very open race.
The Waterhouse and Bott-trained four-year-old shed the maiden tag at Donald three weeks ago when leading all the way to score by an impressive two-length margin.
The form out of that reads well with the second place-getter going on to win at Sale last week, and he’s drawn to get a lovely run in transit under Craig Newitt from the low draw.
Bendigo - Race 6 2:55pm AEST
Simply Venus resumes from a freshen-up after winning his maiden by over a length at Ballarat back in May.
He gave a good sight racing clear at the 300m mark and gets in well at the weights with the apprentice claim put to good use.
All three of his starts have come on rain-affected going so far, and he did run well fresh for second at Werribee on debut. Drawn to roll forward again, there’s no reason he can’t go on with it.
Bendigo - Race 7 3:35pm AEST
Madame Du Gast was an impressive winner on debut at Flemington to start the year and anything close to that form would see her hard to beat upon return.
The Trevor Rogers-trained filly was last seen running on late for fourth at Sandown behind My Whisper, a horse that has since gone on to win a Group 3 and place in the Australasian Oaks at Morphettville.
The inside draw is the only knock, but her recent jump-out’s have been good, and she does have the added class of Craig Williams in the irons.
