The Furious Stakes is Group 2 race reserved for three-year-old fillies with set weights. The race is organised by the Tattersalls Club and runs over a distance of 1200m at Randwick Racecourse with prize money of A$250,000.

The race was introduced in 1986 as a listed race. It was promoted to a Group 3 status in 1995 and a Group 2 status in 2005.

Furious Stakes preview and tips

The Furious Stakes Race is one of the three Group 2 Races to be held on Saturday, 3rd September. It is the second leg of the Princess Series, followed by Tea Rose Stakes and then Flight Stakes, a Group 1 Race held in October. The first leg of the series is the Silver Shadow Stakes. Fillies coming out of the Furious Stakes go on to compete in the Tea Rose Stakes.

The Silver Shadow is the best indication for favourites for the Furious Stakes. Locally trained fillies that have performed well in the previous season as 2-year-olds or run well on 1400m have a good chance in the Furious Stakes. Dame Giselle in 2020 and Libertini in 2019 completed the Silver shadow and Furious Stakes double and are the latest fillies to salute for the bettors. In any case, fillies in the top half of the betting line-up have good chances in the race.
