Gosford Preview – Wednesday 30th November
Gosford will play host to NSW’s major provincial meeting on Wednesday with a quality eight-race card.
We’ve run the rule over the entire meeting and offer our best bets below!
Race 1 - 12:25pm AEDT
The slight step back in trip should suit Monastery nicely.
He was third at Hawkesbury a couple of weeks ago after copping some interference early over 2000m, a nice showing coming off a three-week let-up.
He’s been super consistent throughout his short career and looks the one to beat in this small field.

Race 2 - 1:00pm AEDT
My Eloise won by nearly three lengths at Hawkesbury last time out and is nearly a month between runs now.
The Capitalist mare led for most of the way and probably would have won by more if she didn’t get a little wayward down the straight.
Fitter second-up and on another dry track, she should prove very hard to beat.

Race 3 - 1:35pm AEDT
Lady Superspy is a much better horse than her first-up run suggested.
The Exosphere mare was caught at the tail and struggled to find a run, but I think she can make amends out to the mile now with fitness on her side.
1300m was probably a little too sharp fresh, so this looks more to her liking.

Race 4 - 2:10pm AEDT
Mr Wallace fought on well here a couple of weeks ago over a touch shorter and was unlucky not to find the money.
He’s untested over 1200m but does present fitter for two runs back.
The Godolphin four-year-old has drawn to get the gun run along the rail and another dry track should be to his liking.

Race 5 - 2:45pm AEDT
Lovero was impressive on return here last month, stalking the pace over the track and distance to win by a comfortable 2.5 lengths.
The lightly raced mare is clearly capable of winning tougher races than this and has drawn to get a similar run in transit from an identical gate.
How she handles a firmer track is the only question but if she finds the clear at the top of the straight, I think she’ll be hard to hold out.

Race 6 - 3:20pm AEDT
Open race with a case to be made for a few.
Arch Of Titus has made three starts to date, placing in back to back at Canterbury earlier in the year before a complete forgive run at Warwick Farm tow rap up his winter prep.
He’s trialed well in the leadup to his return and has enough early speed to overcome the wide gate and run a place.

Race 7 - 3:55pm AEDT
I was with Sidenay a couple of weeks ago when he ran on late for third over shorter.
He did a bit wrong down the straight after stalking the leader, racing wide and failing to finish off.
This looks slightly easier, and he’ll likely make his own luck up on the speed again.
2 Units E/W Sidenay
Race 8 - 4:30pm AEDT
Change Is Coming shed the maiden tag at Bathurst back in July when winning by 1.5 lengths after racing on the speed.
He was quickly sent back to the paddock and has looked very impressive in two recent trials at Warwick Farm.
This is a competitive race to lead off, but he should be able to roll forward and make his own luck on the speed from a soft gate.
