Daily Racing Tips – Perth Cup Day Special

Flemington - Race 6 4:20pm AEDT

No. 1 Subconscious

Subconscious is an American import set to make his Australian racing debut in the Chester Manifold Stakes.

He was a genuine Group 1 horse in the United States and if he is able to bring that sort of form to the races today he will prove far too good for the rest of this field.

Backing imports first-up is always a gamble, but this is one I’m more than happy to take at $10.

Flemington - Race 7 5:00pm AEDT

No. 1 Persan

Persan is deserving of his status as a clear favourite in The Bagot.

He relished the drop in class to win the JRA Trophy last start and this race isn’t that much tougher.

Flemington is his pet trip and he maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier five.

Ascot - Race 7 7:15pm AEDT

No. 4 Acromantula

Acromantula was outstanding at Ascot last start and a repeat of that effort would make him extremely tough to beat.

He has now scored six wins from his 15 race starts over 1000 metres and the Summer Scorcher does look like the ideal race for him.

Barrier four is perfect and he will have every possible chance in the run.

Ascot - Race 8 7:50pm AEDT

No. 8 Dom To Shoot

Dom To Shoot is the value runner in what is a very open edition of the Perth Cup.

His two runs in the Northerly Stakes and the Ted Van Heemst Stakes were both better than they looked on paper and he looks ready for the step-up to 2400 metres.

$14 is well and truly over the odds and he is a great each-way bet.
