Geelong - Race 3 1:30pm AEDT
Nicodemus is a three-year-old with plenty of upside out of the Hawkes stable.
He debuted exceptionally well at Sandown last August when chasing home late for third, and while he might be better suited over further, another honest showing can be expected from a handy gate.
Geelong - Race 5 2:45pm AEDT
The Claimant strips fitter for two runs back, both coming in town at The Valley and Sandown.
He was slow away but only gunned down over the final 100m last time out over further, while the form out of his first-up run does stack up quite nicely.
How he handles a soft track is the main query, but with a slight class edge and Damian Lane steering, he’s the one to beat.
Geelong - Race 6 3:20pm AEDT
Winds Of March shed the maiden tag comfortably at Pakenham last week and returns on a quick 10-day backup looking to go on with it.
The Tarzino four-year-old faced similar conditions and responded quite well, and he shouldn’t find this much tougher despite carrying a little extra weight.
He’s drawn to settle just off the pace under Simon Zahra, and if he produces that same turn of foot, he’ll be hard to hold out.
Geelong - Race 8 4:25pm AEDT
Thunder Park is a proven wet track performer with two wins and as many placings to his name.
The Paul Preusker-trained five-year-old was seen doing his best work late at Hamilton over further last time out and was a recent winner of back-to-back starts at Horsham and Nhil last month.
He gets in well with the claim and should be charging home strongly.
